In the 14th minute, Uganda had a corner kick in their game against D.R Congo. Faraku Miya stepped up to take it. Patrick Kaddu noticed some hesitation in the defense of the DRC, took advantage of it and rose the highest to head in Miya’s corner for Uganda’s opener. Uganda went on to win the game 2-0.
Of course, there is always pain before gain, grass before grace and misery before joy – and Uganda’s Patrick Kaddu has had his fair share of life’s challenges. Kaddu, famed in Uganda for scoring the goal that secured Uganda’s participation in the ongoing AFCON in that game against Cape Verde exemplifies an individual with an incredible will to succeed. Kaddu currently plays for Maroons FC in Uganda.
