Ghanaian and Hellas Verona midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has been hospitalized at the Sacred Heart hospital of Negrar for investigations and therapies following an episode of pulmonary microembolism, Hellas Verona has revealed in an official statement.

Pulmonary microembolism (embolism), also known as PE, lung embolism is a condition wherein one or more arteries in the lungs is blocked due to a blood clot.

Most times, a pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that travel from the legs, or rarely, other parts of the body (deep vein thrombosis or DVT).
