Eno Barony Makes History As The First Female To Be Nominated For ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ Category at the VGMA

Call her the King of Queens!

Eno Barony, the Yaa Asantewaa of Rap music, made history as the first female rapper to be nominated for the ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ category at the VGMA.

Yes she made it! The rapper who recently released her “Yaa Asantewaa” album was nominated in the male dominated category for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which will take place later this year.

The ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ category ever since its inception in 2010 has been dominated and won by male rappers who also obviously dominate the rap game in Ghana.

However, Eno Barony says she is looking forward to winning the ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ and if that happens she also becomes the first female rapper to have actually won — another great feat for her.

The rap category for VGMA 2018 consists of hot MCs such as Teephlow, Sarkodie, Lil Shaker, Kojo-cue, and Sarkcess Label rapper, Strongman who will all jostle for the award.
