Joy FM’s Manasseh Azure Awuni has registered his displeasure at the government’s decision to postpone the one month ban on fishing activities in the country, which was scheduled to begin on the 7th of August, 2018 to next year.

Ms. Elizabeth Naa Afoley Quaye, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development on the 2nd of August 2018, revealed the new initiative at a meeting with stakeholders in the fisheries industry in Accra.

The ban has been rescheduled to take place in August 2019.

In a tweet, the ace journalist said “It is better to lose the fish in 2018 than to lose the votes in 2020. Politics over policy!”
