Police Harass Citi TV Journalist in Search For Weapons and Drugs

Citi TV’s journalist, Umaru Sanda Amadu, had the shock of his life when a team of policemen from the SWAT Unit stopped him in traffic and demanded to search his car for WEAPONS and DRUGS!

 Sharing his ordeal on Facebook he wrote;

On 2nd January 2021, I was driving when occupants of a police patrol car ordered me to pull over. I did.

They approached and insisted on searching my car for drugs and weapons. I obliged, on condition that they let me film the process.

They objected but I insisted. In the course of the search which was interlaced with verbal abuse and the subsequent seizure of my phone, the armed policemen subjected my car and myself to the most thorough search I have ever witnessed. I do not object to police searches.

But it must not be done with intimidation, harassment, and humiliation like they did to me near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle today.
