Quophi Okyeame Is A Liar – Reggie Rockstone Tells The Truth To Defend Sarkodie

The Godfather of Hiplife, Reginald Yaw Asante Ossei popularly known as Reggie Rockstone has called Quophi Okyeame a liar over his statement that Akyeame first made history at the Appollo Theater in 2000 when they had a sold out concert. Reggie Rockstone who is not pleased about the former member of Akyeame’s comment questioned the intent for making such a statement few hours after the successful show in New York adding that it was not necessary for him to have said that.

Reggie Rockstone who said he was supposed to be part of the 2000 concert at Appollo Theater told Abantepa on Radio Univers that “with what Quophi is saying, Ashantis have a saying like “and so what?”. Some things are not important to say and even if you want to say, the timing makes you look bad. It even makes it look like you are jealous.”

He added that “this is Sarkodie’s time, your time came and its gone so what are you going to gain from coming out to say this? First of all, Sarkodie never said he is the only one making history”

Recounting what happened years ago at the Appollo Theater, Reggie Rockstone said on Radio Univers that Daddy Lumba was the headline artiste for the show in question because he was huge at that time not Akyeame who were opening acts for the show. He further stated that Sarkodie made history over the weekend with his concert because he is the first Ghanaian rapper to headline a sold out concert at the Appollo Theater in New York.

“Now another thing Quophie is not telling the people is, Lumba was the headline act for that show not you. Lumba was a bigger artiste and you were the opening acts. Sarkodie is not an opening act but the headliner…”

Reggie Rockstone then told Quophi Okyeame that “…so that is historical so he shouldn’t distort it”.

He wrote “Akyeame Was the first Hiplife Duo to play at the AppolloTheatre to a mix crowd so huge the police came to stop the show. This was in 2000 with daddy lumber.Don’t distort the history.
