The people of Lombok, a holiday island in Indonesia have been dealt some bad news.
According to AFP news agency, a powerful quake which struck the holiday island on the 5th of August in Lombok has killed 82 people and wounded several other hundreds.
This was confirmed by Indonesia’s national disaster spokesperson, Purwo Nugroho. Nugroho went on to confirm that thousands of buildings have been left damaged.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency said in a statement today that the death toll is expected to rise.
